Our Story
It started with a story for my son
The idea for BookBildr started with a song about a little mouse.
I was making up songs, rhymes and stories for my son Simon, and I wanted to turn some of them into a picture book. I could write the story, but getting it onto printed pages was another matter.
I searched for a tool that would let me write, illustrate and order my book in one place. Instead, I found design software to learn, files to prepare and publishing platforms that expected me to arrive with a finished book.
I wanted something simpler. That became the idea behind BookBildr.
Software that helps you make a book
Before BookBildr, I worked as a copywriter for software companies. Explaining software in everyday language was a large part of my work. With BookBildr, I wanted to make the process itself easier, so that users didn’t need to read long tutorials to get started.
You shouldn’t need to understand print production to make a book for your child. You should be able to write your story, choose your pictures, arrange the pages and order a copy.
That is still the idea behind BookBildr. The editor runs in your browser, and the platform prepares the print files for you.
What BookBildr has grown into
BookBildr now brings together book creation, illustration, printing and publishing services.
You can make children’s picture books, illustrated chapter books, family stories, classroom projects and books of your child’s drawings. Use your own artwork and photos, choose ready-made illustrations, or work with the AI writing and illustration tools.
When your book is ready, you can order a downloadable PDF or professionally printed copies, starting with a single book.
For authors who want additional help, BookBildr also offers editing, illustration, book formatting and publishing services. You can create a personal keepsake or get support with a book you intend to publish.
Make something of your own
Some books begin with a carefully planned manuscript. Others begin with a child’s drawing, a family memory or a story invented at bedtime.
BookBildr gives you a place to turn those beginnings into a book you can hold, read and share.
